The Upper Rooms started over five years ago, with a vision to connect disconnected men together to grow and lead. The vision began in a basement, but eventually moved to our current home base which happens to be the upstairs rooms at the shop of Appalachian Tree Co., Inc..
In these rooms, men are challenged to be open, vulnerable, teachable and humble – everything the world tells us not to be. It’s a place where we can belong, one night a week, feel missed when we can’t make it, and feel loved when we do. It’s a place free from judgement and condemnation, free from church solicitation, free from negativity. It’s a place of growth, if you choose to grow. A place of healing if you want to heal.
If you’re a guy, and you feel disconnected, or are just looking for a group of men to connect with as a supplement to what you’re already getting, then take a risk and stop by. We love new faces and promise you’ll feel at home as soon as you walk in.
Our studies are always open to new faces! While we do start and stop studies on a strict schedule, we’ll always invite and accept new faces at any time. So if you feel like checking us out, drop by any time, there’s no need to wait until a study is over.
Because we believe that it’s important for men to connect and grow, we welcome men from High School age and up. Our current ages range from 9th graders to 50+. Depending on the specific study we get into, we occasionally break up into smaller, age appropriate groups, but for the most part, the interaction between the younger men and older men is an important part of being called into manhood.
